Just some info on St. Prex, since I'm sure everyone will be interested. This is the view from our apartment.
We think it's about the size of T-Town or Altamont (1000-2000 people). I will be working in Lausanne until the ADM office is built in Rolle (expected to be complete Dec 2009). St. Prex is very close to being right in the middle of Lausanne and Rolle and is about a 20 minute drive either way. Geneva is very close as well. It should be about a 30 minute train ride to Geneva...not sure on how long to drive.
There is a bakery and a small grocery store in town and very close to the train station. Not sure what other stores are there, but we'll find out soon! It appears to be a small and quiet little village. Which will hopefully be like home.
The part that will not be like home, is the terrain. It's VERY hilly and will definitely be a workout to walk and bike around.
There are lots of grapes grown in the area for local wineries. And, there are other fruits grown in the area. We saw lots of apple trees while we were there. The general area is very rural, which also reminds us of home.
The Montreaux area is about 1 1/2 hrs away is a great ski area. So, we plan on hitting the slopes during our stay in Switzerland.
