Yesterday was the "July 4th" of Switzerland, except it is on August 1st. We have decided we have a pretty nice place to watch fireworks from our balcony. Last night, we saw about 20-30 different fireworks shows. Since we are up on the hillside and the 3rd story of our apartment building, we have a GREAT view for all the surrounding fireworks displays. And, since Switzerland is a fairly wealthy country, every little town puts on a decent size fireworks display. St-Prex put on a very nice one that lasted about 30 minutes. We also got woke up several times through the night with some locals letting off their own. There was one that I nearly flew out of bed because it sounded like it was in our house!!
