Packing and Moving

Today was the last day in our "temporary" office in Lausanne. When the EU headquarters moved from Hamburg, Germany to Switzerland in January 2008, they started in this office and then half of the Swiss employees moved into "the containers" (a two-story set of contractor trailers basically) in Rolle. Some stayed in Lausanne. When I arrived, that is where the audit team was based at. It was audit and marketing there. Then, slowly more groups came to join us and it was a nice little office. Almost 3 years later, they are FINALLY ready to move into our newly built offices in Rolle. We have been packing up our office in the last two to three weeks. Today, everything was finished...all boxes packed, everything taken down and quite empty when I left...except of course for the IT staff unplugging and packing up all IT equipment and the huge moving team starting to pack up the many boxes into the three large moving vans. They will move everything overnight and (supposed to) get all the IT equipment up and running again in the new office. We arrive at 9 am tomorrow...probably to a scene of complete chaos and a lack of IT network services. We are the first group to move, more move on Friday and the rest in mid-December. Can't wait to set-up the new office and get settled in!! :) Will post my pics of the old and new office (after getting them taken tomorrow of course).
