Happy Late Thanksgiving!

Happy late Thanksgiving my sweet Owen!

I missed going to see you this weekend, but I would have to say that I think we (the entire Moeller clan) have been talking to you a lot this weekend getting you to help out up there.  I'm sure you know it already, but your grandpa Moeller is in the hospital.  I'm sure that you have been watching over him and helping him out because he's still here with us and beating all odds right now (granted he's got the Moeller fight and stubbornness in him, but I'm sure you are helping out too).  Also, I'm pretty sure that if he does come to join you (which we are all hoping and praying not yet) he will have a lot of messages for you from all of us and he won't let you out of his arms until the next family member joins.  For all of us, keep pushing for your grandpa up there and watching over him...we aren't ready to send him up to you.

Gene's dad (who is also Gene) got sick at home on Thanksgiving Day morning.  They thought it was originally the flu or some sort of stomach sickness.  They were pushing fluids and telling him to rest.  After a bit, they realized that he needed to go to the hospital.  At the local hospital they did a CAT scan and realized he had a brain aneurysm and he was air lifted to Carle Hospital in Champaign.  At that time, Gene called in to work, we ate our lunch with my family at our house, he dropped off his food for the work potluck and then we headed over to the hospital.  He was in the ER and unresponsive at that time, with a breathing tube in and no one knew at that time how it would end up.  We were really hoping at that time that Owen was up there working miracles on his behalf.  He finally got moved to the ICU there after a room opened up.  His dad had surgery to put a drain in and relieve the pressure on his brain at that time too.  The waiting room up by ICU was entirely full, so a doctor opened up a family consult room (where they take you to talk) and we set-up camp that night.  The Blair's ended up coming over to our house that night.  We got in close to midnight.  Poor Buttercup was so confused as we left in a hurry and left her locked up for longer than we typically do.  The Blair's and Gene went out and did some quick Black Friday shopping...I crashed hard.  We were all up extremely early the next day then too.  They did an angiogram on Friday and found out that his aneurysms were no longer bleeding and healing themselves, but that they could not be surgically fixed due to age/health he more than likely would not make it through that.  Friday was a long day again but by the end of the day, he was responding to people in the room and hearing certain voices by moving his arms/legs a bit.  He also started to open one eye that evening.  All good signs!  Saturday, we headed back over.  He had another CAT scan which showed him as stable, no more bleeding.  He was trying to pull out the tubes with his hands so he ended up being gloved...the gloves look like soft, white boxing gloves.  By late afternoon, he had actually opened both eyes and tried to raise his head off the pillows.  He even shook his head for the nurses when he opened his eyes showing he can respond to their questions.  Even better signs!  Today, he was doing the same as yesterday.  He is running a fever and they have him on antibiotics for that.  The younger grandkids are not allowed back there right now...too big of a risk to him and to them.  We just keep hoping for good signs of improvement.

Also, during all this time, I finally got to hear about a dream you appeared in for your aunt Gena a while ago.  Thanks for the message you gave her for us!!  :)  You made me cry, but it was a good cry.

We love you and miss you so much sweet monkey.  The holidays are a hard time of year for us and this year even more so.  Not only about your grandpa because that makes the holidays even harder this year now, but you would have been able to experience the holidays so much more this year and it is extremely hard to experience them without you.  We always are wondering how and what you would be doing...would you like all the holiday foods....playing with your cousins...cute outfits...pictures with family...all the family traditions that you would be involved in.

One add...with all the family spending most spare time at the hospital right now, we may not have any Christmas decorations up and Christmas cards are off the list, as well right now.
