Merry Christmas Owen

This was going to be such a blessed day with our little Baby O.  Our dreams were filled with ideas for our favorite holiday of the year.  While Owen would not have been able to do much more than enjoy the Christmas lights, we would have enjoyed every last second...fun Christmas outfits, toys that he could have enjoyed, being Santa for the first time, family pictures in front of the tree, enjoying the family time together with the 3 of us and so much more.  We would have opened up presents, gone to church together, had some lunch, then I figured that Baby O, Buttercup and I would spend the day curled up on the couch together after Gene left for work.

Instead, last night we opened our presents together with Buttercup.  It was bittersweet...a time to be happy, but quite sad on Owen missing.  Today after church, we went to visit Owen.  This was something that I have not yet had the courage to do.  But, I really wanted to visit him today.  Gene's sister put a pine bough grave covering and bright red bow on his spot, plus our niece left Owen an adorable police sock monkey for him.  Then, his other sister and our nephew left him a Christmas card.  We cried for a while with him...wishing him a Merry First Christmas in heaven...hoping that he is enjoying the birthday party up there with the guy it is all about.

Merry 1st Christmas to our sweet little boy, Owen!  We love and miss you so very, very, very much!!
