Sept Trip Back to US

We went back to the US immediately following our cruise - literally got home Saturday afternoon from our cruise, did laundry and then repacked. Got on the train at 6 am the next morning to fly home. We got home on Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Got in to Effingham in time to meet up with my family for dinner at Niemerg's. It was great to see everyone. And also YUMMY food!!! While we were there, we ran in Angie, Nick and Angie's family for her birthday dinner. Great timing. :)

Monday, was unfortunately a family funeral. Gene's uncle Ted died during the week before. While it was good timing for us to be able to make it, just still not something we wanted to be doing. His uncle was a really great guy, never said anything bad about anyone, would do anything to help others out and more. He's missed by many!

It was good timing on another front...his youngest sister Kathy and her husband had another son the week before. So, we got to see little Konnor while we were home! Such a cutie!

We were home for 2 weeks and I had to work the majority of the time since that was what brought us home. I had training the entire second week. So, it was a bit tight on time, but we did manage to squeeze in during the rest of the time home...2 soccer games, car hunting (only to see what kind we want to buy when we move home in December), family time, friends, food, family reunion, swimming and more. It flew by, but we also know that we'll be home soon. :)
