1 year!

This weekend we've had Buttercup in our lives for 1 year!!  She's been a great joy and frustration at some times to us.  She greets us every day with tail wags, belly scratches, head and ear scratches, jumps (to my dismay) and lots of love.  She begs for her treats (pretty much any kind, but she particularly loves the cookies from Millie and Bo's Barkery) and her stinky bully sticks...the twisted kind.  She loves her toys...squeaky squirrel, raccoon, ducky, Doug the hedgehog, FBB, plastic bottles, her new favorite...a frisbee, pretty much anything that we can throw to her and she can go fetch or try to kill it.  She loves going for walks.  She would prefer to run, but I don't run.  She loves playing ball with Elliot...he throws it down the steps or rolls it on the banister and she catches it.  He hates that she catches it and won't give it back to him.  But, they have a good time.  She has a hate/hate/tolerate (eventually) relationship with Chewy.  She snuggles with some people but also loves her alone time.  She hates baths, but would love to drink all the water out of them.  She doesn't like to get in the pool and swim (she can swim) but it is her biggest water dish EVER!  (Maybe my somewhat recent dream of her and Chewy in the pool playing together nicely will come true this summer?)  She loves trying to catch the bunnies that live under our shed and has started to pay attention to the birds in the trees that are arriving every day now.  She loves the low spots under the fence...she seriously spies on all the neighbors this way.  She loves mud.  She hides her bones in plain view, but will still try to push whatever she can on top of her bones to hide them (i.e. computer cord, pillows, blankets, carpet).  She loves Gene's blue blanket that I made for him a long time ago.  I should make one for her since I do still have yarn left from it...just have to get motivated to do it.  She's Gene's shadow and hates being left alone for any amount of time...unless she's choosing to be alone herself that is, usually to go outside and play.  When she is left alone, she tends to do bad things like eating trash, kleenex, paper from the coffee table, etc.  She loves when kids are around...she has learned very fast that eventually she will get food from them either from their droppings or sometimes just direct feeding.  Oh and her one big favorite...lotion!  She loves lotion!  She will lick it off hands, feet, legs, arms, face, etc.  She didn't like the first snow she experienced.  But by the huge snow this last weekend...she loved it.  She ran to the top of the snow piles that Gene scooped up and slid down on her belly.  She would dig her nose in the snow and flip it up.  She changed our lives so much...we love you Buttercup!!
