Walk to Remember 2013

Yesterday we attended the annual Walk to Remember in Springfield.  It was our first time in attendance.  It was a great event!  There were over 600 people registered; although, I am not sure how many attended in person...a lot, but probably not that many.  The weather probably didn't help...potential for rain.  There were a lot of familiar faces from the SHARE group (both in person and online).  It was fabulous to see all the families there to show their love for the many babies lost and the extended families to support the immediate family.

We had some family come to support us in person...April and Kiel and Erin and boys.  And, more wishing they could be there with us.  We greatly appreciate the support we receive from you all. :)

They started the event with some reading of poems and music.  Then, all the babies names were read while the parents or family planted a little rainbow windmill in the "Garden of Dreams" in honor of the baby lost.  After that, a balloon release.  Owen once again wanted to get his balloon...we were near trees and it was windy...our balloon was headed for the tree and the high branches, but managed to slip through the openings and head off to heaven.  :)  From there, we walked from the pavilion to the Angel of Hope.  Owen's name will eventually be placed there later this year.

The weather held out for the most part.  It sprinkled a few random times throughout the morning.  It was extremely humid though!  And, Buttercup LOVED all the attention she got throughout the day!!
